Cedar Street

Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood is home to many vintage high-rise buildings with unique challenges. The compact kitchen in this apartment needed updating; however, an unmovable and extensive plumbing stack divided the space. We transformed the existing floor plan into an asset, using it to carve out a small eat-in kitchen. Our signature robin’s egg blue draws attention to design details—including a cove of built-in shelves—while a simple palette of white cabinets, lacquer details and translucent glass keeps the space feeling open, clean and calm.
